Thank You Card for Our Orthodontist

Hello friends!  Welcome to those visiting for the first time!  I hope everyone had a fabulous week-end!  I am getting close to my 50th post; make sure you stay tuned because I will be having a giveaway on my blog to celebrate this milestone.  Today, I am sharing two cards I made; one I will be mailing to my son's orthodontist; the other will be posted in my Etsy shop.  He recently had his braces removed and I am so impressed with how great his teeth look.  I want to let him and his staff know how appreciative we all are.  I made two similar cards.  All of the paper is from the DIY Shop Paper Pad by Crate Paper.  The inspiration for this card is from the backside of this paper pad.  The ruler trim is Tim Holtz.  Let me know which one you like better!  Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back soon!  Remember, keep crafting in peace and love!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hello Friends,

I hope all is well!  Today, I am sharing a variation of a card I made for a friend.  She is hosting a fundraiser for one of her friends who just finished receiving treatments for breast cancer.  She asked me if I could make a few invitations because she could not find any breast cancer awareness stamps at our local craft stores; she even thought about buying stickers.  I could not let her do that...I told her that I have stamps.  I have breast cancer awareness stamps thanks to Unity Stamp Company!

Her invitation has the other sentiment from the Cure Girls stamp set by Unity which says, "Can't imagine the journey without you."  Her invitations also did not have the butterfly and stars stamp.  The butterfly and stars stamp comes from the Unity Stamp Company October 2011 Kit of the Month (Faith, Hope, Love...live by it).  The stamp with the ladies comes from Cure Girls and the sentiment, "we can beat this" also comes from Cure Girls.  I am entering this card with Friends with Flair over on the Unity blog.  Thanks for visiting!

Friends with Flair October 3, 2014

Hello there friends,

Today I am sharing a burlap utensil holder I made for someone throwing a rustic birthday party.  I am submitting it for Friends with Flair over at the Unity Stamp Company blog.   She gave me the colors she wanted to use...this purple and gold really rocks!  Has such a regal look about it!  Hmmm...going to have to use this color combination on future projects.  First I took a wood tag and painted it purple.  I then applied gold paint using a paint dauber to the stamp of circles.  I stamped the circle image at the top and at bottom of the wood tag.  The sentiment was stamped in versamark ink and embossed with white opaque embossing powder on gold paper.  I then used an oval cutter.  The leaf was die cut from gold embossed paper and coated with a little of the purple paint.  The leaf is attached to the sentiment with a wood clothespin.  The sentiment is attached to the tag with foam adhesive.  The entire tag was adhered to the burlap bag with Glue Lines.  The circle stamp is from Unity's June 2014 Layers of Life (Beautiful Wish) and the sentiment stamp is from Unity's October 2014 Sentiment Kit (today, I am thankful).

She wanted a monogram on the bag too, so I added the letter 'W' to a birch disc.

Have a wonderful week-end!

Keep crafting in love and peace,
Dawn

Unity Friends With Flair Sept. 5, 2014

Hello Friends!  It feels great to be back participating in the weekly Friends with Flair over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog!  I've been away for just a bit...been busy with the kids going back to school.  Now that we are settled with being back in school, I can take some time to play.  Today I created a Halloween  card using stamps from three different Unity sets.  The chair and sentiment are

from an Itty Bitty called Spooky Chair; the spooky tab is from Fright Night; and the cattails are from the September 2013 KOTM called Happiness Has No Limit.  Pattern paper is Authentique and the embossing folder is called vintage wallpaper from Sizzix and Stampin' Up.  The skulls and crossbones on the spooky chair were colored with a Spica pen.  I am also entering this card in the Unity be Inspired Challenge.  Thanks for visiting!  Remember to keep crafting in love and peace!

Unity Stamp Co. be Inspired Challenge August 2014

Welcome friends!  Today I am sharing a card I created for the Unity be Inspired Challenge.  I have to be honest, at first, I wasn't feeling this card; but the more I look at it, I like it just a little bit more.  I wish you could see how beautiful this tree is in person; the pics do not do it justice.  I had been wanting this stamp set for sometime; it is a Layers of Life set.  It is called tree of gratitude (September 2013).  I received this set after I completed my Growing in Unity week back in June 2014.  To get the perfect embossed image of the tree, I must've stamped and embossed it 15 times...no joke.  With this particular embossing powder, it looked best on really dark cardstock.  It was hard to see on lighter shades of cardstock.  The embossing powder is Ranger; it's called enchanted gold.  I thought this powder would be perfect for a fall themed card.  The leaves were stamped in early espresso (Stampin' Up) on patterned paper.  The banner was cut from pattern paper (Studio Calico).  The sentiment was also stamped in early espresso.  The sequins are from an old pillow.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy the pics!  Dawn

Friends with Flair...August 1, 2014

Happy August 1st everyone! The countdown begins to one of my favorite holidays, Halloween.  Thus, I decided to make a Halloween card.  I love all the witch stamps that Unity Stamp Co. offers.  This is the first time, I have inked this witch stamp.  Meet Hazel Girl; she is one of the Angie girls stamps.  Isn't she fabulous?  I love this image and even more I enjoyed inking her up.  First, I stamped her in black ink on watercolor paper.  She was water colored with various gelatos and Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I also used a couple Copics.  I love her skirt and decided to add some vintage glitter to the frilly part of her skirt.  The sentiment is also Unity and it's from Hauntingly Sweet.  Thanks for stopping by; now for the pictures.  Have an amazing week-end and keep crafting in love and peace...Dawn
