Hello everybody! Happy Friday! Once again I am participating in the Friends With Flair linky party over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog. I am sharing a sympathy card I created for my husband's boss. Regrettably, his boss just lost his brother. My husband asked me to make a sympathy card and I thought I would share it on my blog. For this card, I used a medium I haven't used in awhile, gelatos. The gelatos I used are from 50's Diner. I scribbled some Acqua dolce on watercolor paper, spritzed with water, and I blended it with my fingers. All the stamps are Unity. I stamped Vintage Ledger in a Tim Holtz ink. The bird image is from the November 2014 Kit of the Month called What Lies Within Us; it was stamped in Stampin' Up ink. The sentiment is also from the same Kit of the Month; it was stamped in Stampin' Up ink as well. I then used the banana gelato around the vintage ledger and rubbed that in as well without water. The brass embellishment is Prima and the hemp is Stampin' Up. Thanks for visiting and have an amazing week-end!

A Gardener's Journal
This journal has been a work in progress for about a month. Not that it took me a month to assemble; but because of being busy with the usual daily activities of my wonderful life. I knew in my mind that I wanted to create a garden journal, but it was just carving out time where I can give it a lot of love. I have to say that I am very pleased with how this journal turned out. Initially, I thought it was too bright. But aren't beautiful gardens loaded with vivid colors? I do not have a green thumb. But I do admire beautiful gardens. This journal was just posted on my website, in hopes that someone will purchase it for themselves or as a gift. Mother's Day is right around the corner and I thought this would make a lovely gift. If I have not mentioned it before I am a huge fan of Prima Marketing Inc. They are my go to when I need the prettiest of embellishments. They also came out with these amazing resist canvas journal covers a few years ago. I used these covers for this journal. I have several of these covers left that are awaiting for me to doll up. The outside and inside of these covers were inked with Dylusions sprays. I used a Dylusion stencil on the inside of the covers. The front cover was embellished with a vintage seed packet, Basic Grey chipboard letters, Basic Grey chipboard garden poke, KaiserCraft wood fence, Prima metal antique garden sink, and paper flowers from Michael's. Each page in the lower right hand corner was alternately stamped with the word, grow, and a watering can. Both stamps are from Unity Stamp Company. Check out the pics and let me know what you think...I always look forward to your comments. They really make my day!

Friends with Flair...April 17, 2015
Hey everyone!
I hope you had an amazing week. I am sharing a card with you today that I am entering in Friends with Flair over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog. Would you believe that inspiration for this card came from a Bath and Body Works shower gel bottle, Velvet Sugar? Well, it's true! I have been making this card in my mind for the past several weeks. I am not totally pleased with how it turned out; I think I'll try again. All three stamps are from Unity of course: the heart is from the November 2014 SMAK Kit, Trust your Soul; tattered chicken wire; and the sentiment is from the November 2013 Kit of the Month, Strength and Dignity. The heart was colored with chalk ink, a water color crayon, and paint. The chicken wire image was stamped with gold paint. I painted the outline of the card piece with gold paint as well. The card piece was placed slightly off center on the card base. The sentiment was stamped with Stampin' Up ink. Twine is Lawn Fawn and the flower is Michael's. As always, thanks for visiting.

A Ladies Diary...A Shabby, Vintage Wall Hanging
Please scroll down for my entry into Friends with Flair over on the Unity Stamp Co. Blog
Graphic 45 is one of those companies that produces paper perfect for altering items and creating home décor pieces. I created this piece with some of their gorgeous paper from A Ladies Diary collection. This is a collection from three years ago and I still had a few pieces left to create this piece. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I also combined elements from a few of my favorite companies for embellishing, Prima, Melissa Frances, and Webster's Pages. Here is a list of products used: hanger (Melissa Frances)
Victorian Lamp (Prima)
String of Pearls (Prima)
Ruffled ribbon (Hobby Lobby)
Tulle Flower (Webster's Pages)
Fabric Flower (Prima)
Pattern paper (Graphic 45)
Corrugated board
Vintage White Paint (Plaid-Folk Art)
Shabby Chair (Prima)
I appreciate you visiting my blog and leaving comments. Here are the pics...Enjoy!!
I am sharing a card I created for a dear friend of mine for Friends with Flair. Just like this sentiment says, she is all that and more. I hadn't seen her in three years and we got together for lunch a few days ago. It was wonderful to see her. Our lunch lasted for 3 hours. We laughed, ate, laughed some more, and shared family pictures. What a treat it was! My dear friend was diagnosed with breast cancer a little while back. I am happy to say that she is cancer free. I feel terrible not keeping in touch these past few years. I know she has family who cares for her and other friends, but I know I should have been there for her. From this, I have learned that I should never be too busy, or that things in my life were more important than hers. I have learned not to let life get in the way of life, if this makes any sense. What I am trying to say is that even when your own life gets stressful and hectic, it is essential to make time for friends and family who need you. Contact, whether it's in person, by phone, mail, email, texts, etc. is essential. She is so forgiving. She completely understood. She is a true friend. In the past, anytime we were together, she made me laugh louder, smile bigger and live just a little bit better. I want her to know how much she means to me. I hope this card does that. She is a very special person.
For this card I stamped the butterfly from the January 2015 Kit of the Month, Magic of Beginnings. The sentiment is from a grab bag, Far Better Things Ahead. Both sets are Unity. Thanks for reading this post. Enjoy the pics:

Friends with Flair and Tag You're It...April 3, 2015
Hello Friends,
Today I am participating in two challenges: Friends with Flair over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog and the Tag You're It Challenge. I found out about the Tag You're It Challenge from Gaylynn (thanks, Gaylynn). I have been participating in Friends with Flair for several years, but this is my first time playing at Tag You're It! This card came to life from a couple of sources of inspiration: (1) Shilo's mood board that she posted on the Unity Stamp Co. blog a couple of days ago and (2) the sketch at Tag You're It. When I first saw the stamp set called, "Don't be like the rest of them..." over at Unity, last week, I knew I had to have it. The flower and butterfly from this set are gorgeous. I also love the sentiments in this kit. I received this light blue tag as a free gift from Unity. I stamped it all over in the script stamp from the March 2014 Layers of Life called spring inspired. I adhered some Prima crystal swirls to the tag. The flower was stamped on 110lb cardstock and I used my Derwent water color pencils. I added wink of stella to the blue portion of the flower. The sentiment was stamped in black ink and the heart was colored using a Faber Castell colored pencil. The tag was finished with some seam binding ribbon and a butterfly stick pin. The card base was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Thanks for visiting and have a Happy Easter, everyone! Here is the sketch for tag you're it:
