Welcome back crafty friends!  We have a sketch challenge this week at Can You Case It.  Check it out right here:

Pretty amazing, right?!  When I first saw this sketch, I knew I was going to use butterflies.  I don't know why, but this sketch screams butterflies to me.  LOL  So here's my card.  It's not quite how I envisioned it, but my cards never are and I'm sure this holds true for many card makers.  I'd love to hear what others have to say about this.  Don't be shy...leave your thoughts and comments below.

Supply List:

1.  Butterfly stamp is from Delight in Beauty (Unity Stamp Company)
2.  Sentiment stamp is from Smile in your Dreams (Unity Stamp Company)
3.  Stamp that resembles eyelashes to me is from the August 2015 SMAK Kit (Unity Stamp Company).  It was stamped in Shaded Lilac (Ranger, Tim Holtz)

5.  Watercolor backgrounds created with oil pastels (Prima)

Can You Case It #115, A Color Challenge

Welcome back to this week's challenge at Can You Case It.  This week we are having a color challenge.  Here are the colors:

Yes!!  I can finally use another stamp from my Strength stamp set (Ranger/Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley).  The colors for this challenge inspired me to use this particular stamp from this set.  I mean just look at her...she exudes confidence, strength, and power.

To create this card I stroked some yellow paint (Dylusions) on heavy white cardstock by Darice (90lb).  I then stamped her in black Staz On ink.  I then stamped half of the circle in Fired Brick (Ranger/Tim Holtz) on the right side of the card and then repeated on the left side.  The circle comes from the October 2015 SMAK kit called Just Magic (Unity Stamp Co.).  The sentiment was stamped in Fired Brick also.  The sentiment comes from the as I see it stamp set (Unity Stamp Co.).  This stamp set was created in collaboration with Donna Downey.  Unfortunately I smudged the ink in the second 'am'.  I did not try to hide it or totally redo the card.  I think the smudge compliments what the sentiment says.  Basically, I am not perfect...I am who I am.  I am still confident and strong; I never said I was perfect nor am I trying to be.

As always thanks for visiting and make sure you check out the rest of the CYCI DT.

Until next time...

And here is my card:

I've seen so many cards lately featuring stacked mugs, so I thought I give it a whirl.  I really enjoyed coloring all of the mugs.  This card makes me happy...what about you?  So you wanna know what products I used in creating this happy card?

Here is the list:
1.  Image and sentiment both come from a Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month June 2014, In Love with Love
2.  Inks:  Stampin' Up markers and water color crayon
               Colored Pencils
               Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers
               Copic
Image was stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso and then colored using the above inks
3.  Pattern paper:  The Girls Paperie
The banners were actual banners on a sheet of paper and I just cut them out
4.  Strathmore Mixed Media Paper
5.  Darice Heavyweight Cardstock

Thanks for visiting!  I hope I'll see your happy creations on our blog.  I can't wait!

Until next time...

Can You Case It #111, Pick 3 Colors of Your Choosing, A Color Challenge

Honestly, I feel my creative strengths are with sketch challenges.  I don't know why, but I struggle with color challenges...however I am getting better.  For this card I had no idea what 3 colors I was going to use.  I only knew I was making a get well soon card.  First I found this amazing sentiment from butterflies and sunbeams, the August 2015 Unity Sentiment Kit (Unity Stamp Co.).  Next I needed an uplifting image.  I remembered I had this wonderful chipboard bicycle from Crate Paper and I was like, "Perfect."  The sentiment was stamped in Rose Red (Stampin' Up).  The chevron was created using the chevron stencil by Tim Holtz.  It was inked with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, also Tim Holtz.  The strip of pattern paper is My Minds Eye and yellow clothespin is from Michael's.

I hope you will come and play with us at Can You Case It!?  Thanks for visiting and make sure you visit the rest of the design team.  Until next time...keep crafting in love & peace.
