And here is how I used this color mix:

This lovely stamp is called lovely lilacs (Unity Stamp Co.).  The image was stamped in Pacific Point (Stampin' Up!).  The image was colored with various inks:  Prima Metallic Accents, Derwent Watercolour pencil, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in dusty concord.  A resin butterfly (Melissa Frances) was inked with Pacific Point and Dusty Concord and added to the card for dimension.

Thanks for visiting and see you again in two weeks.

Keep crafting in peace and love,
Dawn

Savvy 7 January 2017 Blog Hop - Snowflakes

If you have arrived here from Jeanne's blog, you are in the right place.  I am last in this blog hop of some very talented, lovely ladies.  I am so honored to be a part of this team.  Here is my card:

The snowflake background is from a Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month (November 2011).  The sentiment is from another Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month (December 2010).  Large pattern paper piece is Webster's Pages.  Strip of pattern paper is American Crafts.  I added a silver tree for some shine.

I hope you return to hop with us the first Sunday of every month.  Thanks for visiting all of our blogs.

Can You Case It #144, A Color Challenge

Welcome back to my blog!  Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year's Eve.  For the next two weeks, Can You Case It is having a color challenge.  This palette was selected by our very own Rose.  Woot!  Woot!  Love these colors together.  Check them out right here:

And here is what I created with these colors:

My canvas was a giant manila tag, #12 size.  It measures 5 1/8" x 10 1/2".  I filled in the stencil (Dina Wakley) with crackled texture paste and let dry.  I then outlined and filled in the silhouette with metallic accent paints (Prima).  I tore pieces of pattern paper and applied them to the tag with Mod Podge.  Once this was completely dry I stamped the tag and stamped the silhouette with Unity Stamps.  I learned this technique from a fellow crafter, Diane Deszo.  The sentiment stamp is from Riley & Company.

I am going to add this tag to my art journal.  I hope you have been inspired.  Come play with us...I promise you'll have a great time.

Until next time,
Dawn

Can You Case It #142, A Color Challenge

Welcome back friends!  For the next two weeks at Can You Case It we are having a color challenge.  Thanks Wynne for this stunning color combination.  Check it out right here:

And here is my card:

Wow look at all that sparkle and shine (compliments of Prima and Stampendous products)!  Stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  Ribbon trim is Stampin' Up and die cut is Sizzix.  I created the background by randomly stamping all over with the same stamp.  Each section was embossed using a silver embossing enamel.  Then I used Blackberry Bliss (Stampin' Up) by way of a wet brush and added more shine with a metallic water color.  The bling I just so happened to stumble upon in one of my drawers; totally forgot I had this.  I had used part of it on some other creation, but had just enough left for this card.  My cards usually don't have a lot of sparkle and shine, but since it's the holidays, I decided to really go for it.  LOL

Let me know what you think.  I really enjoy reading your comments.  Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out the rest of the team.  I can't wait to see you what you create as well.

Until next time,
Dawn

Can You Case It #141, A Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this week's challenge!  I just love this sketch.  You can keep it simple or make it elaborate.  Here is this week's inspiration:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I loved this sentiment ever since I first saw it in a kit at unitystampco.com.  It is from their January 2015 Kit of the Month, Magic of Beginnings.  The bottom part of the card was created with the Tim Holtz mesh stencil and Art Anthology paints.  The top half of the card is My Mind's Eye pattern paper that I inked.  The card was finished with three Basic Grey brads and twine.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see your wonderful creations.

Until next time, keep crafting in peace and love,
Dawn
