Hello everyone! I am super excited about this month's blog hop because yours truly suggested it. I thought it would be cool to challenge each of us to somehow portray strength in our creations. As women, I feel we are strong in so many ways: we give birth, we work and take care of our families, we are leaders in our communities, we are protectors, we are caregivers, and we inspire and are inspired. I can go on forever here, but I think you get the picture. Let's get to the cue:
Let's just say I have had a challenging week which required strength in so many ways. I couldn't wait to unleash in my journal; so today I am sharing a bit of myself via my art journal. I hope you like it.
All stamps on this page are Unity. Their names are in parentheses. To create this page, I first stamped the face (she pauses). I colored her face and neck with acrylic paint. I then created the background using Gelatos, water, and a brush. I then used a Prima stencil with white paint. I then stamped the oh Lord sentiment (gardenia floral border). I then stamped the flowers (blow your mind). I then randomly stamped the netting (blow your mind). I then stamped the sentiment on the right side (Determined to rise) and then I stamped the strength sentiment in the lower left hand corner (as I see it). I then added sequins I received free from Unity in a Kit of the Month. I also added washi. I am really pleased with the completed project. It was so therapeutic to create this page. I so needed this.
I still have to announce the winner from last month's hop to receive a brand new Unity stamp set from me. This past week just really got away from me. I will announce the winner within the week. Stay tuned!
