Can You Case It #152, A Color Challenge

Hello Friends! Welcome back to the CYCI challenge! Here is an amazing color combo presented by our very own, Amber:Image may contain: texthttp://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3663

With this springy combo of colors I decided to make an Easter card with little Buttercup (Unity Stamp Co.):

Isn't she the cutest lil' bunny ever?  I have had her for a couple of years and this is my first time inking her up.  I colored her with Copics and Prima water color pencils.  The sentiment is also from the Buttercup set (Unity Stamp Co.).  Other supplies used are:  felt cloud (Basic Grey); pattern paper (Webster's Pages); chipboard flower (Crate Paper); and die cut paper (Heidi Swapp).  The mini wood flower I received as a freebie from Unity.

I really appreciate you taking the time to visit.  Please come again next week for a sketch challenge.

Until next time,
Dawn

Savvy 7-April 2017-Blog Hop-Birthdays

Happy Birthday!  No it's not my birthday, but it just may be your birthday.  And it just so happens that birthdays are the theme for this month's blog hop at thesavvy7.blogspot.com.  Come join us and celebrate...whether it's your birthday or not.

For my card I chose Maggie Girl (It's Your Birthday) from Unity Stamp Co.  I believe this set was one of the first Unity sets I ever purchased. And can you believe this is my first time inking her up?  What took so long, considering I have been a Unity addict for the past, I don't know, 5+ years?  I know what took so long; I forgot I had her considering I shop a whole lot faster than I create.  This shopping faster than creating popped up recently in my Facebook feed.  Boy, can I relate?!

Anywhoo, let's get to my card:

I colored Maggie with Derwent and Prima water color pencils.  I added a bunch of pattern paper pieces from Crate Paper.  I also used die cut paper and an acetate word from Heidi Swapp.  I really like how this card turned out.

Well, friends, I have to go, but please check out the rest of the team and I hope you leave our little hop inspired.

Until next time,
Dawn

Can You Case It #150, A Color Challenge

Welcome back to this week's challenge at Can You Case It?!  Check out this fabulous, earthy, color combo picked by our DTM, Kevin.  These colors work great together, particularly for those masculine cards.

Here is my card:

A co-worker recently lost her dad.  I don't make too many masculine sympathy cards.  I thought these colors were perfect for his sympathy card.  Also, this is my first time stamping on a book page.  I've been wanting to do this for some time.  I love it.  Will use this technique a lot.  The book page is from a vintage book I purchased for $1.00 at a book sale at my local library.  The book was published in 1924.  Amazing, right?

Supplies used:  large stamp is called tangled leaf background (Donna Downey Studios and Unity Stamp Co.); sentiment stamp is from the February 2015 Sentiment Kit, beautiful life, blessed memories (Unity Stamp Co.); copper brad (Making Memories); blue ink (Stampin' Up); green ink (Smooch); copper metallic rub on ink (Craf-T Products, Inc.); and string (Stampin' Up).

Thanks for visiting my blog and make sure you join us for this challenge on Facebook/Can You Case It Challenge Group.

Until next time, stay crafty my friends,
Dawn

I received this stamp as a free gift from Unity Stamp Co.  Isn't she gorgeous?  She is colored with Prima water color pencils and Faber Castell colored pencils.  Other products used are pattern paper (Webster's Pages), a partial doily (Recollections), and a mini wood camera I inked.

Thanks for looking!  Make sure you visit the Can You Case It Facebook page for more inspiration and to participate in our weekly challenges.  I look forward to seeing your beautiful creations.

Savvy 7-March 2017-Blog Hop-LUCK

Welcome to this month's blog hop brought to you by the Savvy 7.  This month's theme is luck.  Initially, I thought I was going to make a St. Patrick's Day card, but then switched gears to use stamps I recently purchased from Unity Stamp Co.  This set is so cute.  I love, love, love it!

Both the dog and sentiment come from the lucky Dog set.  I created the water color background with an oil pastel (Prima).  The sweet dog was water colored with earth tone water color pencils (Prima).  I stamped the dog on pattern paper and cut the tie and adhered it with foam adhesive to my dog.  I also incorporated a strip of pattern paper with a die cut overlay (Heidi Swapp), a mini binder clip (Fancy Pants), and a mini file folder (Fancy Pants) to complete this card.

I really do appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog.  Come back the first Sunday in April for more inspiration.

Keep crafting in peace and love,
Dawn

And here is my card:

For this card I used stamps from an older Kit of the Month (November 2011) from Unity Stamp Co.  This was my very first time using both of these stamps.  This card features torn pattern paper (Teresa Collins) and pattern paper from My Minds Eye and Pink Paislee.  There is also a doily and measuring tape trim.  There is also a piece of die cut paper (Heidi Swapp).  Inks used were Tempting Turquoise and Crushed Curry, both Stampin' Up.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have been inspired by all of us at Can You Case It?!

Until next time,
Dawn
