Unity Friends With Flair Sept. 5, 2014

Hello Friends!  It feels great to be back participating in the weekly Friends with Flair over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog!  I've been away for just a bit...been busy with the kids going back to school.  Now that we are settled with being back in school, I can take some time to play.  Today I created a Halloween  card using stamps from three different Unity sets.  The chair and sentiment are

from an Itty Bitty called Spooky Chair; the spooky tab is from Fright Night; and the cattails are from the September 2013 KOTM called Happiness Has No Limit.  Pattern paper is Authentique and the embossing folder is called vintage wallpaper from Sizzix and Stampin' Up.  The skulls and crossbones on the spooky chair were colored with a Spica pen.  I am also entering this card in the Unity be Inspired Challenge.  Thanks for visiting!  Remember to keep crafting in love and peace!

Unity Stamp Co. be Inspired Challenge August 2014

Welcome friends!  Today I am sharing a card I created for the Unity be Inspired Challenge.  I have to be honest, at first, I wasn't feeling this card; but the more I look at it, I like it just a little bit more.  I wish you could see how beautiful this tree is in person; the pics do not do it justice.  I had been wanting this stamp set for sometime; it is a Layers of Life set.  It is called tree of gratitude (September 2013).  I received this set after I completed my Growing in Unity week back in June 2014.  To get the perfect embossed image of the tree, I must've stamped and embossed it 15 times...no joke.  With this particular embossing powder, it looked best on really dark cardstock.  It was hard to see on lighter shades of cardstock.  The embossing powder is Ranger; it's called enchanted gold.  I thought this powder would be perfect for a fall themed card.  The leaves were stamped in early espresso (Stampin' Up) on patterned paper.  The banner was cut from pattern paper (Studio Calico).  The sentiment was also stamped in early espresso.  The sequins are from an old pillow.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy the pics!  Dawn

Friends with Flair...August 1, 2014

Happy August 1st everyone! The countdown begins to one of my favorite holidays, Halloween.  Thus, I decided to make a Halloween card.  I love all the witch stamps that Unity Stamp Co. offers.  This is the first time, I have inked this witch stamp.  Meet Hazel Girl; she is one of the Angie girls stamps.  Isn't she fabulous?  I love this image and even more I enjoyed inking her up.  First, I stamped her in black ink on watercolor paper.  She was water colored with various gelatos and Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I also used a couple Copics.  I love her skirt and decided to add some vintage glitter to the frilly part of her skirt.  The sentiment is also Unity and it's from Hauntingly Sweet.  Thanks for stopping by; now for the pictures.  Have an amazing week-end and keep crafting in love and peace...Dawn

Unity Stamp Co. July GIU Blog Hop

Hello Friends!  Welcome!  I am excited to say that Unity Stamp Co. is hosting a blog hop for us May/June 2014 Growing In Unity ladies.  There are a total of 6 ladies in this hop.  Make sure to visit each of our blogs today.  The six of us are showcasing the new SOTW (Stamp of the Week).  The new SOTW is called Pumpkin Greetings.  It is quite lovely.  I have created two cards using these new stamps.  First up is a clean and simple card.  It is always a challenge for me to create CAS cards; I always feel like I need to add something.  I apologize for that tiny smudge; not sure where it came from.  I noticed it right after I applied the pattern paper strip.

For this card, I stamped the pumpkins on water color paper using Staz On Saddle Brown ink.  The large pumpkin was colored in with a gelato (blood orange) and the small pumpkin was colored in with a Stampin' Up water color crayon (pumpkin pie).  The leaves on each pumpkin were colored with another Stampin' Up water color crayon (garden green) and the brown is also a Stampin' Up water color crayon (close to cocoa).  The sentiment was stamped in Saddle Brown on cream cardstock.

Now for the second card...the sentiment was stamped in chalk ink on the mini chalkboard.  Unfortunately the 's' in greetings did not fit on my mini chalkboard.  The pumpkins were stamped in saddle brown on the pocket (Tim Holtz/Sizzix die).  They were colored in with Stampin' Up markers (pumpkin pie and crushed curry).

Thanks for hopping with us today!  If you are not currently signed up to receive the SOTW, and you want this stamp set, head on over to Unity for the details on how to sign up.  While you're there, check out the awesome tag sale they are having.  I guarantee you will find some amazing deals!  Also, check out how to receive the coupon code for 50% off regular priced items (exclusions apply).

Next in the hop is the talented Miwa.  Head on over there and leave her some love.  Thanks again for stopping by.  Until next time, keep crafting in peace and love...Dawn

Friends with Flair July 25, 2014

Hello friends!  I have a sympathy card to share with you today.  This card could also be used as a get well card.  For this card I used the Donna Poppy background stamp and the sentiment is an Itty Bitty (Here Today, Here Tomorrow).  The Donna Poppy background is one of my favorite Unity stamps.  It is perfect for water coloring.  I also love the sentiment from this Itty Bitty.  On 140lb watercolor paper, I stamped the poppy background in Staz ON Saddle Brown ink.  I then selected 4 Stampin' Up water color crayons to fill this beautiful stamp in.  The banner was cut from My Minds Eye paper and Fancy Pants paper.  The brad is My Minds Eye.  The sentiment was also stamped in Saddle Brown.  The acrylic butterfly stick pin is Jillibean Soup.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to shop the Unity sale.  Also, it is Angie Blom's birthday; make sure you give her a shot out!

Keep crafting in peace and love...Dawn

Friends with Flair

Hello Everyone!  I had a fabulous July 4th!  I hope my fellow Americans had a fabulous July 4th as well! We cooked out at our home.  We had relatives in town we haven't seen in a while.  It was great to see them!  From all the cleaning and cooking over the past several days, I'm too pooped to pop; but I was determined to participate in Friends with Flair on the Unity Stamp Co. blog.  This card is also being entered in their Unity be inspired challenge as well.  For this card I decided to go with not one embossing folder, but two!  I have a nice assortment of embossing folders, but I never use them.  I really like how this card turned out with the dry embossing.  The blue paper was embossed with a Tim Holtz folder.  The pink paper was embossed with a Sizzix/Stampin' Up folder.  The swirl of black crystals is Prima.  And of course, all the stamps are Unity.  The dress form and 'I miss your face' are from the May 2012 Kit of the Month (Love in an Instant); hey girl is from the May 2014 Kit of the Month (Hey Girl).  The dress form was colored with Stampin' Up and Tim Holtz Distress Markers.
