The name of the stamp set is so grateful. I love this set; so many possibilities. Wow! I wish you could see all the shimmer in her outfit! She looks like she's ready for a party!  I colored the stamped image with Art Anthology paints, Prima water colors, Prima water color pencils, and a Stampin' Up water color crayon. And those shimmery pebbles...those are melange art pebbles by Prima.

A few of us are having giveaways this month, so make sure you comment on each blog. Good luck!

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, November 2018, Strength

Hello everyone!  I am super excited about this month's blog hop because yours truly suggested it.  I thought it would be cool to challenge each of us to somehow portray strength in our creations.  As women, I feel we are strong in so many ways: we give birth, we work and take care of our families, we are leaders in our communities, we are protectors, we are caregivers, and we inspire and are inspired. I can go on forever here, but I think you get the picture.  Let's get to the cue:

Image may contain: one or more people, ocean, beach, sky, water and outdoor

Let's just say I have had a challenging week which required strength in so many ways.  I couldn't wait to unleash in my journal; so today I am sharing a bit of myself via my art journal.  I hope you like it.

All stamps on this page are Unity. Their names are in parentheses. To create this page, I first stamped the face (she pauses). I colored her face and neck with acrylic paint. I then created the background using Gelatos, water, and a brush.  I then used a Prima stencil with white paint.  I then stamped the oh Lord sentiment (gardenia floral border).  I then stamped the flowers (blow your mind).  I then randomly stamped the netting (blow your mind). I then stamped the sentiment on the right side (Determined to rise) and then I stamped the strength sentiment in the lower left hand corner (as I see it).  I then added sequins I received free from Unity in a Kit of the Month.  I also added washi.  I am really pleased with the completed project.  It was so therapeutic to create this page.  I so needed this.

I still have to announce the winner from last month's hop to receive a brand new Unity stamp set from me.  This past week just really got away from me.  I will announce the winner within the week.  Stay tuned!

DENISE W BEARD YOU ARE THE WINNER FROM LAST MONTH'S BLOG HOP!  CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU MY FRIEND.  PLEASE MESSAGE ME THRU FACEBOOK TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE!

This month, a couple of ladies are having a giveaway.  Please continue to hop, so you don't miss out on your chance to win some Unity goodness.

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, August 2018, Coffee/Tea

Hey there my coffee and tea loving friends!  We have a blog hop this month just for you!  I have to be honest once again; I am not really a coffee or tea drinker.  I do love the smell of coffee, but that's about it.  I may have an occasional cup of tea, like once a year, but again, that's about it.  I guess I'm kinda weird, huh?  But I do enjoy a good cup of hot cocoa or hot apple cider.  These are my go to's when it starts to get chilly.  Here is the inspirational cue for us this month:

Check out my card right here:

I really, really love how this card turned out.  I used an Itty Bitty Stamp Set, Our Talks.  Paired it with some Pink Paislee paper, twine, half of a canvas doily I inked up, inked die cut leaves, and a metal spoon I got at the Great Lakes Scrapbook Mega Meet a year ago.

Here is the hop order:

Inspired By Challenge...Beach Day

Welcome back friends!  So glad you are here!  Can I just say something? I want to be totally honest with you.  O.K.  The stamp set I used on this card was released by Unity Stamp Co. in 2015.  I'm pretty sure I purchased it in 2015.  Weellll, this is my first time using it!  Yes, because I did not feel comfortable creating with it until now.  It's such a beautiful scene and I wanted to do it justice.  So when I saw this challenge, I knew it was time.  Time to ink her up and break out of this shell.  Here is the cue:

Here is my card:

The name of the stamp set is, the unknown path.  I paper pieced her surf board and her bikini.  I colored the sand, water, and her body with Art Anthology Spray inks.  I used Prima watercolors on the sky and her hair.  I really love how this card turned out.  Well, it's late.  I spent most of my day at the beach.

Until next time,
Dawn

Inspired By Challenge...Campfire S'mores

Hello friends!  Thanks for stopping by...I truly appreciate it!  I am playing along with the Inspired By Challenge.  I really love these challenges.  Here is the cue:

The colors here inspired me.  Check out my card right here:

I really like how this card turned out.  I've used something on this card that I have not used in a long while...ribbon.  I think the ribbon was the perfect finishing touch.  The flower stamp is from a new Unity kit called hey friend.  I absolutely love this set.  The coffee ring stamp is also Unity from their January 2017 SMAK Kit.  The cute sentiment is A Muse Artstamps.  The flower was colored with a water color pencil and water color paint, both by Prima.

Well, thanks for looking!  I look forward to you stopping by again.

Keep crafting in love & peace,

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, July 2018, Christmas in July

Well hello there!  Thanks for stopping by today!  We, the friends, are getting a jump on our Christmas crafts.  You are at the end of our hop.  I hope you have been enjoying all the fabulous creations.  Please make sure to leave a comment on each blog to be eligible for a prize pack from a couple of my friends.  Here is the cue:

Image may contain: text

I decided to make a tag for this hop.  I don't really make a lot of tags, but I wanted to challenge myself.  I want to make more tags because there's just so much you can do with them.  So here we go:

This tag is loaded with layers of stamps, a sentiment, sparkly ribbon, ruffled ribbon, beaded berries, a Christmas flower, a jingle bell, a green jewel, twine, shiny string, and some shiny dots.  I received the sentiment in a Unity grab bag.  Love their grab bags!  Just saying!  I also received the jingle bell, the green jewel, shiny dots, and shiny string as free gifts from Unity.  The flower is Prima.  Sparkly red ribbon is My Mind's Eye.  Ruffled ribbon is Hobby Lobby and beaded berries are Tim Holtz.

Here is how I created the layers of stamps on this kraft tag:  first I stamped the snowflake background from the October 2017 SMAK Kit.  It was stamped three times.  The first two times I stamped it in brushed corduroy (Tim Holtz).  The last one at the bottom was stamped in vintage photo (Tim Holtz).  I then grabbed the snowflake background from the November 2011 KOTM.  I stamped it repeatedly using white paint (Dylusions).  I then grabbed the Christmas flower from the November 2010 KOTM.  I stamped it six times in Real Red (Stampin' Up).  I then highlighted the centers of several flowers with green dimensional paint (Art Anthology).

I then die cut the stamped sentiment using a stitched die (Our Daily Bread).  I then added the ribbon.  I painted the berries with the same green on the flower centers.  They were glued down after drying and then I added the sparkly flower on top.  And last but not least I added some shiny dots.

Whew!  Yes, a lot went into creating this tag, but it was well worth it.  I think it came out just right.  Well, if you like to hop again, here is the list...remember, giveaways!

Inspired By Challenge...Backyard BBQ

Well hello!  I hope you are enjoying your summer doing whatever it is you enjoy doing!  I most certainly am.  One of them is card challenges.  I am playing along once again with the inspired by challenge.  Here is the inspiration:

I knew right away that my card was going to be patriotic and what supplies I was going to use because a few months ago, I picked up a sweet pack of ephemera, by Pink paislee.  The collection is called Sweet Freedom.  I also picked up this star collage stamp from the same stamping convention in Akron, Ohio.  It is created by Technique Junkies and it is called star collage.

Check out my clean and simple card right here:

I absolutely love this tag!  I think it is gorgeous!

Well, thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Happy Fourth to my friends in the USA!

Inspired By Challenge

Hello all!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer; I know I am.  I have been doing a little planting, some sitting on my porch, and of course, plenty of crafting.  Today I am participating in the Inspired By challenge (summer on the porch).  Go here for details, theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com.  This is my very first time participating in this challenge.  Now that I am off for the summer, maybe I'll participate in more.  We'll just have to see what happens.  I'll keep you updated.  For this card, I used my now favorite stamp ever, a Unity Stamp called You Are Forever Beautiful.  This stamp is gorgeous!  It is a joy to color.  It is also huge.  The pretty lady is from Unity's July 2014 Kit of the Month.  This is my first time inking her up.  Wow! Right?!  I know.  My excuse is so many stamps, not enough time.  LOL

Oh!  I almost forgot!  Participants have a chance of winning a fabulous prize package of Unity stamps!  This is the good stuff!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!
Keep crafting in love and peace,
Dawn

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, June 2018, Masculine

Hey there!  Are you ready for another great hop?  I hope so, cause we got some masculine cards for you.  Here is mine:

The truck is from Unity's March 2018 Kit of the Month, stay classy, and the sentiment is from Let Adventure designed by Jolande van Oosterhout and Marleen van Meerendonk.  I used several layers of pattern paper from different companies.  The negative die cut is Basic Grey.  I really miss this company.  The sky was colored with Prima water soluble oil pastels.  Grass was colored with a Prima watercolor pencil.  The truck was colored with Prima red rust effect paste.  I added a little water to the paste to make it more of a water color than a paste.  If you use this paste at full strength, you get a nice rusty, grainy texture.  It's really cool.  I colored the tires with Prima water soluble Graphite sticks.  These are really fun to use too.

Oh I almost forgot!  There are two giveaways this month, so make sure you visit everyone and leave some love.  Good luck!

Well, I hope you enjoyed our little hop.  Next up is the lovely, Jeanie!  Make sure to leave her some love.

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, May 2018, Motherly Love

Hello and welcome to another fabulous hop with the Friends of Unity!  This month, our theme is motherly love.  Here in the States, we will be celebrating moms on May 13, 2018.  This day is also very special to me because my oldest will be 21 years old.  My how time flies.  My youngest will be 17 on September 2 and my birthday is September 3.  They are my Mother's Day and birthday babies.  Here is my card:

This lovely sentiment comes from the Unity Stamp Co. March 2015 Kit of the Month, Always Begin Again.  I accented it with some Prima pattern paper, Prima flowers, Prima journaling cards, and Prima decorative tape.  This Kit of the Month is beautiful; it is one of my favorites.

Up next in our hop, is our lovely Amber.

Friends of Unity Blog Hoppers, April 2018, Showers

For this hop, I pulled out some oldies but goodies.  This was my very first time using both of these stamps.  Yikes!!  One stamp dates back to 2010; the other 2015.  I love this stamp with the couple embracing in the rain.  You can really feel the power of their love for one another.  Here is my card:

For this card I used two kits:  image is from the January 2015 Kit of the Month, magic of beginnings and the sentiment is from the December 2010 Kit of the Month, just be you.
