Unity Friends with Flair January 31, 2015

Hello crafty friends,

Real quick post today!  As mentioned in my post from last week, I aim to participate in Friends with Flair every week over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog.  Today, I am entering a tag.  I used two stamps: the sentiment is from lovely lilacs and the flower is from their

April 2014 SMAK Kit, Wildflowers and Wings.  The tag was water colored with Stampin' Up crayons.  Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad was used for the sentiment.  Thanks for visiting.

Friends with Flair January 23, 2015

Hello Friends,

I hope all is well with everyone!  For 2015 I am trying to participate in the Friends with Flair challenge every week over on the Unity Stamp Co. blog.  So far, so good!  I have a card to share today.  This card was supposed to look totally different.  See, I had these wood words (Hello, Darling) that I wanted to use.  In addition to these two words, I planned on using Marlow from Marlow (Itty Bitty Fashionista) along with her coordinating stamp, Age and glasses of wine should never be counted.  Unfortunately, when I tried removing the words from their packaging, they broke in several places.  They were beyond fixing.  So I went to my Cricut cartridges searching for the words Hello and Darling, but struck out.  I went through some of my pattern paper and came across a sheet with the word, darling, and the statement, things to remember, and a light clicked in my brain.  I decided to also include the sentiments from a fairly new stamp set from Unity called, I like it dirty.  I am not totally happy with the design of this card and one day I aim to perfect it.  Sorry, a little wordy this evening.  Well, thanks for stopping by and have an amazing week-end!  Peace and love, Dawn

Friends with Flair January 16, 2015

Hello my friends,

Talk about cutting it close; talk about down to the wire!  That is exactly what this entry is...an entry into the Friends with Flair linky party over at unitystampco.com.   The hubby was in a fender bender today.  He's fine, car's not.  We just drove this car off the lot a couple of months ago, too.  But more importantly, my husband is fine.  No injuries.  Fortunately everyone involved did not have any injuries.  So grateful for that.

I really didn't think I was going to be able to participate, but here I am.  Luckily I started this card last night.

I needed some more birthday stamps and not too long ago Unity Stamp Co. came out with a stamp set called, Far Better Things Ahead.    So when I saw this balloon stamp, I said, "Whoomp, there it is!"  Does anyone remember this song, "Whoomp, there it is?"  Yeah, now I'm really showing my age.  OK...back to my card.  There are several fabulous sentiments in this set begging to be used.  Very, very soon! The sentiment, "Have a Delicious Day" is from Unity's Kit of the Month from June 2014 called In Love with Love.  Here are the pics!  Thanks for visiting and have an incredible week-end.  Oh, I almost forgot...I need to send a shout-out to Angela, owner of Unity Stamp Co.  Angela, have a very Happy Birthday!  May all your wishes come true!

Friends with Flair Linky Party January 9, 2015

Hello Friends, I hope all is well with everyone!  I am participating in the Friends with Flair linky party over on the blog at unitystampco.com.  Before I share my card with you, make sure you head on over to their website this week-end for some amazing deals on brand new sets.  Your need for some fabulous stamps will be satisfied...I assure you.

Well on to my card.  I'm on the fence with this one.  Don't get me wrong...I like how it turned out, but I feel like it needs something more, but I can not figure out what the something more is.  I thought about adding another stamped sentiment, but it looked like it took away from the card.  So I said to myself, "Leave it be."  This is the first time I used both of these stamp sets from Unity.  The mason jars and trio of hearts are from Jars of Love x 3.  I used Gelatos and did a little water coloring.  The heart with the word 'love' inside is from the March 2014 Kit of the Month called the reason someone smiles.  The pattern paper is My Minds Eye.  Have an amazing week-end! Thanks for looking...Dawn

Sympathy Card and Altered Journal

In my prior post I mentioned that I was making a sympathy card and journal for a 13 y.o. girl I know, who loss her mother on Christmas Day.  I really like how both came out.  Both sentiments are from Unity Stamp Company February 2013 Kit of the Month and the butterfly is from their SMAK July 2012 kit.  I really love this butterfly; it will be used a lot.  My 13 y.o. son helped me pick out the paper for the card.  I used Distress Stickles on the butterfly.  I really wanted to use TH crackle paint, but the one jar I could find in my stash had dried out...but I think the Stickles look nice.  I am going to stamp the inside cover of the journal with an inspirational stamp.  I just haven't selected one yet.  I am also going to write a note to her on the first page.  OK, let me know what you think...I designed these with a 13 y.o. in mind.  I hope I succeeded.  Thanks for looking!

Happy New Year...2015

Hello friends,

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has had a joyous holiday season!  I cannot believe it is 2015 already!  This is going to be a BIG year!  Our oldest son will be graduating from high school in the spring!  I am looking forward to planning his graduation party.  I promise to share whatever I come up with.  But until then, I have a card I want to share with you.  This Itty Bitty I received as a prize from Unity Stamp Company; it is called 'your love is my anchor'.  This is my first time using it and I love it.  I really love how this card turned out as well.  The striped paper and the paper with the anchors is My Minds Eye.  The circle paper and dark blue paper is American Crafts.  Twine is Lawn Fawn.  Thanks for visiting my blog and check out the pics for this card.

I may be sharing another card later; it will be a sympathy card for a 13 year old girl I know who loss her mother on Christmas Day.  My heart aches for her.  I want her to know I am thinking of her and praying for her continued strength.  I am going to make her a journal as well, so she can write down anything that comes to mind or to express her feelings during this difficult time.
