Growing In Unity...Day #2

Welcome back!  Today is Day 2 for me in Growing In Unity!  I'm having a blast!  If you have read my post from yesterday, I mentioned that the winner from making comments on my blog this week would win one Itty Bitty from Unity Stamp Company.  Wrong!!  The winner I choose will receive TWO Itty Bittys!  How cool is that?  So remember, the more comments you make, the greater your chances of winning.

So for today, I am sharing a framed chalkboard that I altered.  I found this chalkboard a little while back at Michael's.  I knew from the moment I saw it, that I wanted to alter it in some way.  I searched for the perfect paper and the perfect embellishments.  I decided upon the Sweetest Thing Bluebell collection from My Minds Eye.  I thought the colors of this collection would go perfectly with the shabbiness and coloring of the frame.  And of course Unity stamps were going to be used.

First, I adhered strips of patterned paper to the chalk holder and above the three openings.  Then the glass was removed from the frame openings.  I adhered cardstock/patterned paper to the three mini frames and replaced them under the chalkboard.  Now I had three mini canvases to build on.  The one stamp is a quote from Walt Disney; laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, dreams are forever.  This stamp is an Itty Bitty.  I stamped this on patterned paper, colored in the larger butterfly and adhered it to the frame with foam adhesive.  I then accented this piece with a chipboard button.

For the middle opening, I cut out a label from patterned paper and adhered it to a block of floral paper.  I adhered the chipboard piece with foam adhesive to the label.  For the last opening I stamped the sentiment dream to be from the Dream to be set (Ippity by Unity) on patterned paper.  I adhered a strip of blue patterned paper to the bottom.  Foam adhesive was added and the entire piece was adhered to patterned paper.  A chipboard pennant with a heart was added.  Over the first opening I placed a floral chipboard embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed looking at this creation as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you.  Now for the pics:

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day.  Until tomorrow, peace and love in crafting
