Can You Case It #126, A Die Challenge

Hello there!  This week at Can You Case It, we are having a challenge with a bit of a twist.  Hint: dies.  Go and grab them; you know you have them and some just so happen to be your favorite.  Here are my favorites:

Yes two Tim Holtz/Sizzix Dies.  The dress form die is called sewing room and the birdcage die is called caged bird.  Both stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  The floral background is called pixie sprigs.  This stamp is really huge.  The sentiment comes from the August 2015 SMAK, a little bit more.  Pattern paper is from GCD Studios and it is called blue floral.  The light blue part of the paper is flocked, which adds nice texture.

Here is the inspiration for this week's challenge:

I can't wait to see your favorite dies.

Until next time,
Dawn

Can You Case It #124, A Sketch Challenge

Hey there everyone!  Sorry I was not around last week.  My youngest son had surgery for a displaced patella.  He is recovering just fine, but he will be in a brace and on crutches for the next 5 weeks and then he'll have physical therapy.

Now back to crafting news.  Here is my card for this week's challenge

Here is the inspiration:

I love this sketch.  I have some more ideas swimming around in my head using this sketch.  The watercolored background was created using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in ripe persimmon and mustard seed.  The stamp was inked with Dylusions paint (vibrant turquoise).  The stamp is from the January 2016 SMAK called free spirit by Unity Stamp Co.  I just received this stamp in the mail as a prize for commenting on Gaylynn Martling's blog when she was the Growing in Unity lady.  Unity sent me this stamp along with a bunch of others.  This stamp is huge!  Pattern paper and rhinestone with the arrows on it is Glitz.

Well gotta run and I look forward to reading your comments.  Have a fabulous week.
Until next time

Can You Case It #122, A Sketch Challenge

Last day of school for my youngest was Friday and last day of work for me is Tuesday, May31!  WooHoo! I work in my school district. Let's get summer started!

I am so glad you took the time to pay me a visit.  This week we are having a sketch challenge at Can You Case It.  Here is the inspiration:

And here is my card I created for this challenge:

I found these die cut wood pieces from the Great Lakes Scrapbook Mega Meet I attended in Novi, Michigan over Mother's Day week-end.  They were at the Melissa Frances booth.  I painted them with dimensional paint (Art Anthology); The wine glass was also colored with a Copic marker.  The photo negative is from Collage Texte et Negatif (Carabelle Studio).  This was also picked up at the mega meet.  The line up of drinks and bottles and sentiment are from drink and cuss (Unity Stamp Co.).  Card was finished off with some gold sequins (Stampin' Up).  Inks are Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Early Espresso (Stampin' Up).
Well, thanks again for visiting.  And, too, my United States friends, Happy Memorial Day!

Until next week,
Dawn

Can You Case It #121, A Color Challenge

Welcome back crafty friends!  I hope you had a fabulous week.  This week CYCI is having a color challenge.  Check it out right here:
Initially I was going to use some Graphic 45 pattern paper along with coordinating embellishments and then I decided to go with a scribbly bird.  Isn't he the cutest?  He is one of four birds from the Scribbly Birds cling stamp set (Dina Wakley/Ranger).  The flower stamp is from the March 2015 Kit of the Month called Always Begin Again (Unity Stamp Co.).  The sentiment is from Hello, Lovely cling stamp set (Stampin' Up).  Pattern paper is Prima.  The bird was colored with an oil pastel (Prima).  Flowers were stamped in Dusty Concord (Tim Holtz/Ranger) and colored in with a Copic marker called Acacia.

Here's my card:

Thanks so much for visiting!  Check back next week for a sketch challenge.

Until next time,
Dawn

Can You Case It #120, A Sketch Challenge

Welcome back friends!  So glad you took the time to visit.  I hope everyone has had an amazing week and is ready for what the upcoming week will bring.  I am sitting here posting this blog after celebrating my oldest son's 19th birthday.  I am stuffed from Chinese food and Dairy Queen ice cream cake (Oreo Blizzard).  Yummy!  He has always liked DQ's ice cream cakes; me not so much.  Apparently DQ has changed their recipe and I thought it was so good.  He said that he likes the old recipe better.  How's that for irony?

Can You Case It has a sketch challenge this week for us card makers.  Check it out right here:

Here is my card showcasing this fabulous sketch:

Supply List:
1.  Sentiment (Tim Holtz;Stampers Anonymous)
2.  Acetate compass die cut (Basic Grey)
3,  Sentiment was stamped in Island Indigo (Stampin' Up)
4.  Background was created with oil pastels (Prima)

Thanks for visiting and make sure you visit the rest of the CYCI Design Team for even more inspiration!

Until next week my friends...

Can You Case It #119, A Color Challenge

Happy Mother's Day!  Welcome crafty friends!  This week we have a wonderful color challenge at Can You Case It!  Check it out right here:

Here is my card; I really love how it turned out.

I stumbled upon this gorgeous sunflower stamp (Stampin' Up) at a garage sale last summer.  And this is my first time inking it up.  Oh this stamp will be used plenty.  It's a beauty...it is now one of my favorite stamps.  I really enjoyed painting it.  It was painted in Vegas Gold (Art Anthology).  I love this paint; gives so much dimension.  The center was colored with a Gathered Twigs marker (Ranger/Tim Holtz).  The sentiment is a stamp from the Beautiful is never perfect stamp set (Unity Stamp Co.).  Gold stripe paper and chipboard pennant is Teresa Collins.  The sentiment was stamped in Brilliant Blue (Stampin' Up).  Blue cardstock is Bazzill and heavy white cardstock is Darice.

If you are a mom in the United States, I hope you have a fabulous Mother's Day.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

Until next week my friends...
Dawn
